In order to ensure long-term success, organisations need to align their strategy, their organizational structure, and their organizational culture. Hence, it is imperative for senior managers to provide learning opportunities for employees that are aligned with the business' needs and goals, as well as the individual learners' career development needs. This can be done with the help of training and development professionals. In order to ensure that training is relevant, it is imperative that each training course is designed in a way that is directly aligned with corporate strategy. Strategy-based programs can be delivered in a number of different formats, such as through experimental learning methodologies, live and interactive leadership simulations, action learning etc.
MENTOR has recently designed and developed a two-layered development program aimed at UAE Nationals working for a Dubai government entity. The two programs were designed with the same approach, however the focus of development activities and type of learning interactions were tailored to fit the different needs of the targeted group. In order to ensure that a development program leads to effective strategy alignment for an organisation, MENTOR ensures that each program designed is relevant to the participant's job roles, linked to culture and local specifics, conducted interactively by a bilingual trainer, and followed by an action plan and workplace assignments.
